The term "coalition" stands for a group of two or more people, political parties or states that agree to work together to gain a common goal.
In terms of government, coalition government is the government formed by coming together of at least two political parties.This is done on the basis of mutual understanding and is formed when a single party does not get the majority or when different parties contest elections together to maximise their win probability.
