It is the process that takes place post the digestion.
In this process, the digested food within the small intestine is now transported to the blood via the help of villi on the inner walls of the small intestine.
These villi are connected to the blood capillaries on the outside and the digested food is absorbed by those blood capillaries with the help of villi.
This step is highly necessary because this digested food will be taken to every body part and every tissue by the blood which will be used by the cells to obtain energy.
