Solution

  • Change of state means a change from one state to another, for example, an ice cube melts on heating so from the solid-state it changes into a liquid state.
  • In this way, a solid can be changed into a liquid and a liquid can be changed into a gas.
  • The state of matter can be changed when the temperature changes.
  • Hence the physical state of matter can be changed by applying pressure and temperature.
  • Generally, when the temperature rises the matter moves to a more active state.
  • The three states of matter that is solid, liquid, and gas which on applying temperature and pressure can interchange into each other.
