Coelomate animals:

  1. Coelom is a fluid-filled cavity between the body wall and the gut wall.
  2. It is lined by mesoderm.
  3. On the basis of the presence or absence of coelom, animals are classified into three groups, namely coelomates, pseudocoelomates, and acoelomates.
  4. Coelomate animals possess coelom between the body wall and digestive tract.
  5. A coelomate animal has a body cavity in which well-developed organs can be accommodated.
  6. For example, annelids, molluscs, and arthropods.
