Displacement is defined as the shortest distance between any two points or the shortest distance between the initial and the final position of a given object.
It is a vector quantity, it has both direction and magnitude.
For example;
In a circular motion, if a body completes one revolution, its displacement is zero because the initial and final positions of the body are the same.
If we are going to the school from home and then coming back home from the school, our displacement will be zero.
