Electromagnetic waves are the waves or radiations having sinosuidal electric field and magnetic field varying perpendicular to each other and the electromagnetic waves propagates in the direction mutually perpendicular to both the fields.
Electromagnetic waves in the increasing order of wavelengths are given as :
Gamma rays < X-rays < Ultraviolet (UV) < Visible light < Infrared radiations < Microwaves < Radio waves.
