Immunity means the ability of the body to protect against disease-causing organisms.
It helps the body to release antibodies against the pathogens and protects against diseases.
There are two major types of immunity:
Innate Immunity - Innate immunity helps in providing the natural resistance which produces an initial response against the infections at birth prior to exposure to a pathogen or antigens.
Acquired Immunity - The ability of the immune system to adapt itself to disease and to generate pathogen-specific immunity is termed as acquired immunity.
