In a given element, the number of neutrons can be different from each other, while the number of protons is same. These different versions of the same element are called isotopes.some examples of isotopes of carbon are C126,C136,C146
isotones:-
If any of two or more species of atoms or nuclei that have the same number of neutrons then they are isotones.
chlorine-37 (Cl3717)and potassium-39 (K3919)are isotones, because the nucleus of this species of chlorine consists of 17
protons and 20 neutrons, whereas nucleus of this species of potassium consists of 19 protons and 20 neutrons.
