Load is the weight to be lifted or moved, which is the force to be overcome by the machine.
Load (output force) is applied to either end of the beam.
Effort is the external force applied to move or lift the loads.
The fulcrum is the point on which the beam pivots.
A lever is formed when an effort is applied to one end of the lever, a load is applied at the other end of the lever and the fulcrum will be the point of pivots.
