what do you mean by non strategic PSUs?

Dear Student,

The PSUs as per the New Disinvestment Poicy, 2000 were classified into categories. These were:

1) Strategic PSUs- It was decided that these PSUs will have full government control. For eg: Arms and Ammunition, Atomic Energy and Railways.

2) Non-strategic PSUs- It was decided that these PSUs will be privatised slowly on a case-to-case basis. It included all the PSUs except Arms and Ammunition, Atomic Energy and Railways.
