What do you mean by ordered pair and ordered triplet? Give example.

An ordered triple is a list of 3 elements written in a certain order. As with ordered pairs, order is important.

For example, the numbers 1, 2 and 3 can form 6 ordered triples: (1,2,3), (1,3,2), (2,1,3), (2,3,1), (3,1,2), (3,2,1)

Ordered pairs are often used to represent two variables. When we write (x, y) = (7, - 2), we mean x = 7 and y = - 2. The number which corresponds to the value of x is called the x-coordinate and the number which corresponds to the value of y is called the y-coordinate.
