Periodicity of elements:- Elements in the periodic table show a regular variation in both physical and chemical properties within the same group or the same period. This gives us the concept of periodicity. The properties which reappear at regular intervals in the periodic table or in which there is some gradual variation at regular intervals are called periodic properties. This phenomenon is called periodicity of elements.

Cause of periodicity:- The recurrence of a similar electronic configuration that is the same number of electrons present in the outermost shell of the element is basically the cause of this periodicity.
