What do you mean by saturated hydrocarbons and unsaturated hydrocarbons? State their examples.

Saturated hydrocarbons contain all CC single bonds whereas unsaturated hydrocarbons contain C=C double bond (alkenes) and CC triple bonds (alkynes).
Alkanes such as ethane (CH3CH3) butane (CH3CH2CH2CH3) are saturated hydrocarbons whereas,
alkenes such as ethylene (CH2=CH2) and alkynes such as acetylene HCCH are unsaturated hydrocarbons.
