Serum is the component of blood which lacks blood cells and clotting factors like fibrinogens.

Serum proteins are proteins present in blood. They serve many different functions like transport of lipids, hormones, vitamins, and minerals in the circulatory system and the regulation of acellular activity and functioning of the immune system.
