What do you mean by the atomicity of an element?

Atomicity is defined as the number of atoms present in a molecule of an element, compound or substance.

Example:- formula of Hydrogen molecule is H2 and it is known as diatomic. So, atomicity will be 2 and formula of phosphorous is P4and it is known as tetra atomic. So, atomicity will be 4.
