Question

What do you mean by the dynamic resistance of a conductor?

Open in App
Solution

The dynamic resistance

  1. It is the function of potential difference (or current) through the material.
  2. It is defined as the ratio of differential change in voltage to a differential change in current.
  3. R=dVdI. Here R is dynamic resistance of material, V is potential difference and I is current through it.
  4. Dynamic resistance is used to quantify the resistance of non-ohmic materials.
  5. The dynamic resistance of a conductor depends on the applied potential difference (Current)
  6. It does not follow ohm's law, so it is called a non-ohmic conductor.
