What do you mean by thermal equilibrium?

  1. Heat flows from one object to another object only if there is a temperature difference.
  2. Therefore heat always flows from a hot object to a cold object.
  3. As a result, the temperature of the hot body decrease, and the temperature of the cold body increases.
  4. Heat will be transferred until the temperature of both objects will become the same.
  5. When the temperature of both objects will become equal no heat will be transferred.
  6. This state of equal temperature is called thermal equilibrium.
  7. Heat flows from one body to another body till the bodies reach a state of thermal equilibrium.
