On heating, lead nitrate decomposes to give a yellow residue of Lead oxide and brown nitrogen dioxide along with evolution of oxygen gas. That is, 2 Pb(NO3)2Δ2PbO+4NO2+O2 It is a thermal decomposition reaction.
