Solution

(a) When acetic acid is added to sodium bicarbonate, carbon dioxide is
liberated.
CH3COOH+NaHCO3CH3COONa+H2O+CO2

(b) When acetic acid is added to ethyl alcohol in presence of sulphuric acid ester
(ethyl acetate) is formed.

CH3COOH+CH3CH2OHConc.H2SO4−−−−−−−CH3COOC2H5+H2O

(c) When acetic acid is added to neutral FeCl3, wine red colour is produced.

3CH3COOH+FeCl3Fe(CH3COO)3+3HCl

Fe(CH3COO)3 is responsible for the colour.
