Solution
When an excess of ammonia is passed through an aqueous solution of lead nitrate, white precipitates will appear which are insoluble in the excess ammonia.
When lead nitrate and ammonium hydroxide reacts, a chalky white precipitate of lead hydroxide is obtained along with ammonium nitrate.
Lead hydroxide is formed which is insoluble in excess of ammonium hydroxide.
