Solution

(i) When concentrated nitric acid is dropped on a hot surface, brown fumes of nitrogen dioxide are evolved.
(ii) Hydrogen sulphide is oxidised to form yellow-coloured sulphur.
(iii) Nitric acid reacts with the proteins in the skin to form xanthoproteic acid that causes the skin to turn yellow. Highly concentrated nitric acid can also cause burns and blisters.
(iv) Scrap zinc reacts with nitric acid to form zinc nitrate and nitrous oxide.
