What do you think would happen if the thyroid gland of a tadpole is removed?

In a frog thyroxine, the hormone is produced by thyroid gland.
Thyroxine production requires the presence of iodine in water. If the water in which the tadpoles are growing does not contain sufficient iodine, the tadpoles cannot become adults.
So, if the thyroid gland is removed tadpole cannot become adult.
