Solution
The skeleton which is external is called exoskeleton. It is a rigid, protective and supportive covering present outside the body. It is made up of hard structures or dead tissues present in both the vertebrates and invertebrates.
Endoskeleton is the one present inside the body mainly made up of bones and cartilage. It has various functions:
1. Supports the body.
2. Protection to the internal tissues and organs of the organism.
3. Bones along with the muscles give the capacity for locomotion and movement.
4. Bones contain bone marrow that contains stem cells that have the ability to specialize in any other cell.
5. Can bear huge body weight as compared to the exoskeleton.
