Solution

Definition of a chemical equation

A chemical equation is the symbolic representation of a chemical reaction in the form of symbols and formulae, wherein the reactant entities are given on the left-hand side and the product entities on the right-hand side.

Explanation

  • Matter during a chemical reaction breaks into atoms of the reactant which rearrange to form products these reactants will break apart and recombine in a new way which makes the products.
  • The coefficients next to the symbols and formulae of entities are the absolute values of the stoichiometric number

Parts of chemical reaction

  • Chemical Formulas ( NaOH)
  • Reactants & Products (CaCO3CaO+CO2)
  • Reaction Arrow(/)
  • Plus Signs (+)
  • Coefficients(2Na)
  • Subscripts(H2O)
  • States of matter(CO2(g))

Example CaCO3(s)calciumcarbonateCaO(s)calciumoxide+CO2(g)carbondioxide
