1. Meaning of vernacular names: Plants and animals in our area are known by their local names which vary from place to place. These names are called common vernacular names.
2. For example: The bird ‘Gauraiya’ in Hindi‘, ‘House sparrow’ in England, ‘Pardal’ in Spain, ‘Musch’ in Holland and so on.
