As per the Constitution of India, India is a Secular state. From this we can understand that
State cannot take away the religious freedom of individuals.
State is not allowed to enforce any particular religion on any individual.
Indian Secularism ensures that some members of a religious community cannot dominate other members of the same religious community.
Indian secularism ensures that one religious community does not dominate other religious communities.
The Indian state distances itself from all religions.
The Indian state does not support any one religion.
The Indian state is not ruled by a religious group.
The Indian state does not promote any religion or display any religion in Government spaces like Government offices, Government schools, police stations, courts, etc.
If a state wants to interfere in the religious practices of a particular religion, it can only happen based on the ideals given in the Constitution.
