What do you understand by 'Soil Profile'?
It is a vertical section of the soil showing different layers.
The soil profile is defined as a vertical section of the soil that is exposed when a soil pit, or hole, is dug from the surface of the soil to the underlying bedrock. A soil profile consists of the different layers of the soil found in a particular area that are stacked over one another. Each layer differs in feel (texture), colour, depth and chemical composition. These layers are referred to as horizons.
