Solution

Elements, Atoms, and Molecules

The change of state is the transition of three states of matter from one to another by losing or gaining heat. Example: Transition of ice(solid) into water (liquid).

  1. Melting: The process of conversion of solid into liquid on gaining heat.
  2. Freezing: The process of conversion of liquid into solid on losing heat.
  3. Sublimation: The process of conversion of solid into gas on gaining heat.
  4. Deposition: The process of conversion of gas into solid on losing heat.
  5. Boiling: The process of conversion of liquid into gas on gaining heat.
  6. Evaporation: The process of conversion of liquid into gas on gaining heat below the boiling point of the liquid.
  7. Condensation: The process of conversion of gas into liquid on losing heat.
