(i)Saturated solution: It is the type of solution in which no more solute can be added.

  • For example, In saturated solutions of salt in water, no more salt can be added.

(ii)Unsaturated solution: It is the type of solution in which more solute can be added.

  • For example, In unsaturated solutions of salt in water, more salt can be added.

(iii)Supersaturated solution: It is the type of solution in which more than the average solute can be added at a given temperature.

  • For example, by heating the saturated solution of salt in water, more salt can be added which is an example of a supersaturated solution.
