  2. The movement of charged particles through a medium (say wire) constitutes an electric current.
  3. The SI unit of electrical energy is the joule or Watt-second.
  4. The commercial unit of electrical energy is the kilowatt-hour (kWh). It can be seen in our household electricity meter.
  5. Some examples of the application of electrical energy are written below-
  6. Lightning strikes, during a thunderstorm. It is nothing but the discharge of charges into the atmosphere.
  7. Electric eels (A type of fish) generate electrical energy and use it against predators for defense.
  8. Electrical energy can be converted into other forms of energy like heat energy, light energy, motion, etc.
