Part 1: Matter
- Anything that has a mass and occupies space is known as Matter. In general, matter exists in three types. i.e, Solid, Liquid, and gas.
Part 2: Properties of Solids
- Solid has a definite volume as well as a definite shape.
- The intermolecular force of attraction in solid particles is very strong which makes it stronger.
- Solids do not compress because they have very less spacing between the particles.
- Solid do not occupy the space or shape of container.
- As the articles are fixed at their positions so they are rigid in nature.
- The diffusion rate of solids is very slow.
- For example, paper, stone, wood, eraser, pencil, etc.
