Apomixis is the process through which a new plant develops without the participation of gametes or fertilization.
Apomixis involves the development of genetically identical individuals.
When this occurs in a cluster, the cluster is referred to as a clone.
Plant parts or propagules produced by either the reproductive or vegetative structures function as replicating replicas of an individual.
The stems reproduce asexually by producing runners, bulblets, or bulbs, or by the terminal section of a stem bending over and roots in the soil (layering).
Leaves can be rooted or, in some situations, generate minute fragments that behave as asexual propagules.
