GnRH:

  2. GnRH is released from the nerve cells in the brain.

Functions of GnRH in females:

  1. In females, GnRH stimulates the follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LT) from the anterior pituitary gland.
  2. FSH and LH regulate the the secretion of steroid hormones and stimulate follicular growth and ovulation.
  3. GnRH stimulates the production of progesterone and estrogen hormones in the female body.
