Solution

Dear Student ,
Potential at a point in terms of electricity is the amount of energy required to bring a unit positive charge from infinity(zero potential point where there is no electric force) to that point which is located inside an electric field. We say that a point A is at a higher potential than point B when energy required to bring the unit positive charge to A is more than the energy required to bring the same charge from infinity to B. Consequently, when a positive charge is set free at point A, it will always have a tendency to move to point B (due to intrinsic property of positive charge to flow from higher to lower potential).
