What does it mean by "some of the positively charged particles carry a multiple of the fundamental unit of electrical charge" ?

It means that a positively charged body does not mean that it contains a single positively charged particle. But it may contain multiple of positively and negatively charged particles and the overall charge on the body may be positive because of excess positive charge.
