Natural vegetation refers to a
plant community which has grown naturally without human aid. Different types of
vegetation in India includes -
Tropical Evergreen: Regions
are hot and receive heavy rainfall throughout the year. They are found in Western
slopes of the Western
Ghats in States such as Kerala and
Karnataka. They are also found in hills of Jaintia and Khasi.
Monsoon Forests: Monsoon
forests are also called as tropical deciduous forests. These include broad
leaved deciduous trees. These trees shed their leaves during dry season. These
are found in Anaimalai Hills, Western Ghats and Tamil Nadu state.
Temperate deciduous forests: These regions have cool winters and receive moderate rainfall. Temperate
Deciduous Forests extends across the Indian states of Bihar, Orissa, and Madhya
Pradesh.
Coniferous Forests: These forests have cool and short summers and cold and long winters. These are located in the Eastern Himalayan range.
