What does Optical density depend on? Turpentine has less Mass density than water yet it is more Optically denser. So what does Optical density depend on since it does not depend on Mass or does it?

  1. Optical density deepens upon the number of transparent molecules in the medium.
  2. In the case of turpentine number of molecules of turpentine are more in number than the molecules of water so turpentine is denser than water optically.
