Cellular Respiration
Cellular respiration is the process of oxidising food molecules like glucose, to carbon dioxide and water, with a consequent release of energy. This energy released, is trapped in the form of ATP, for use by all the energy-consuming activities of the cell and the organism as a whole. The process of breathing (respiration) is divided into two distinct phases, inspiration (inhalation) and expiration (exhalation). On the other hand, photosynthesis is the process by which plants, some bacteria, and some protists use the energy from sunlight along with carbon dioxide and water, producing glucose and releasing oxygen.
