Solution
Dermis:
It is the middle layer of skin in the body.
The dermis is composed of collagen, elastic tissue, and extracellular components such as vasculature, nerve endings, hair follicles, and glands.
Reticular Region is the thick bottom layer of the dermis
The reticular layer of the dermis is important in giving the skin its overall strength and elasticity, as well as housing other important epithelial-derived structures such as glands and hair follicles.
A net-like structure of elastin fibers and collagen fibers surrounds the reticular dermis
Inside the reticular region, the bundles of collagen fibers weave or interlace in a mesh-like pattern.
The spaces between the fibers are filled by small quantities of adipose tissue, nerves, hair follicles, oil glands, and the ducts of sweat glands.
Differing thicknesses of the reticular region lend to differences in the thickness of the skin.
