Solution
Gametogenesis:
Gametogenesis is the process of formation of generative cells or gametes oocytes/sperms.
Mutation is the process of change in the DNA sequence of an organism.
If the mutation occurs in a germ cell it is known as germinal mutation.
Variation due to mutation during gametogenesis leads to the genetic variability of the population by offsprings mutated genes.
It results in an altered frequency of genes and alleles in the future generation.
