Question

what energy conversion takes place during the propagation of electromagnetic waves?

Open in App
Solution

Dear student
Electromagnetic wave consist of electric and magnetic field and hence both electric and magnetic energy associated with it.Both electric and magnetic fieldin it vibrate in the same phase but the average value of electrostatic energy per unit volume of space=14E02 ( E0 is the amplitude of electric wave) magnetic energy per unit volume of space=B204μ (B0 is the amplitude of magnetic field)But there is no such conversion of energy.Regards
