Solution

Cell Divison:

The cycle of events that lead to the formation of new daughter cells from the parent cell and involve the transfer of genetic information is termed cell division.

Some factors that regulate cell division are given as follows:

  1. External factors are factors affecting cell division from outside the cell, which are –
    1. Chemical and physical signals
    2. Cell to cell contact – Cells get in touch with one another, it stops growing
    3. Different growth factors – cells release certain chemicals that signal indicating others to either grow or stop.
    4. It stimulates internal factors affecting the cell cycle.
  2. Internal factors are factors affecting cell division within the cell –
    1. Cyclins – Proteins that regulate the transition of one mitotic phase to another.
    2. Kinases – Specific enzymes that work in association with cyclins to regulate the transition between phases in mitosis.
