Mini steel industries are those industries which use scrap iron, electric arc furnaces instead of using coal. The steel produced is later rolled and shaped. These mini steel plants have well flourished in India due to following reasons:

• Need lesser capital
  
• Transportation is less as they are located within the industrial towns
  
• They are cost effective.
