Open in App
Solution

Respiration:

  1. Respiration is process of taking in oxygen and giving out the carbon dioxide.
  2. In humans, there are two different types of respiration processes – Internal and the external respiration.

Internal respiration:

  1. It generally refers to the exchange of gases mainly oxygen and carbon dioxide, which occurs b/w the blood and cells.
  2. During internal respiration process, oxygen binds to the haemoglobin in alveolar tissues and gets transported to various parts of body tissues.
  3. It is dissociated in order to release oxygen in the tissues.

External respiration:

  1. The process of external respiration includes the breathing process that is both inhalation (intake of oxygen) and exhalation (out of carbon dioxide)
  2. Factors influencing external respiration are: Water H2O, Light, Oxygen O2, Temperature and Carbon dioxide CO2.
