What fear did Raina have about Sergius before he proved himself?

Raina had doubted whether Sergius was as brave as everybody thought him to be. Wasn't it her imagination that made him look like a splendid hero. She doubted whether his soldiering and heroic qualities might not prove real and he would cut a poor figure beside the Russian soldiers.
