What first is the first law of motion?

Open in App
Solution

According to Newton's first law, " an object remains in its state of rest or uniform motion unless and until an external force is applied".
For example, if a rocket is moving in space with its engines off, its velocity and direction will not change until the engines are switched on. Similarly, a marble at rest on the ground will be at rest until someone hits it.
