What gas is released during photosynthesis?

Open in App
Solution

Photosynthesis:

  1. Photosynthetic organisms transform light energy into chemical energy in the form of reducing power (NADPH) and ATP, which they then employ to drive carbon dioxide fixation.
  2. Chlorophyll (green pigment of the leaf), light, and CO2 are required for photosynthesis to occur.
  3. The end products of photosynthesis are - carbohydrates (mainly glucose) and oxygen (O2) gas.
  4. Oxygen gas is released during photosynthesis.
