Cell Proliferation:
The proliferation of several cell types is regulated by mitogens that are capable of causing cell division and by the anti-mitogenic factors that can inhibit it.
Tumour cells are not regulated by mitogens and are also resistant to anti-mitogens.
A number of internal i.e. environmental factors are responsible for regulating cell proliferation.
These include factors like nutrients, temperature levels, pH, and oxygen among others.
Further, these factors contribute to the mechanisms controlling the rate of cell proliferation.
