Mitosis:

  1. Mitosis is a type of cell division in which a parent cell divides to produce two genetically identical daughter cells.
  2. Each new daughter cell gets two sets of chromosomes.

During metaphase of mitosis,

  1. It is said to be the second stage of Mitosis.
  2. During the metaphase, the microtubules pull the chromosomes and bring the chromosomes to the middle of the cell.
  3. This region of the cell is called the metaphase plate.
  4. The spindle fibres align the chromosomes along the metaphase plate.
  5. If the centrioles are at the poles then the metaphase plate will be at the equator.
  6. Each end gets a functioning genome.
  7. It is usually easy to see in the microscope.
