Solution
Blood:
The most critical component of the circulatory system is blood, a fluid connective tissue.
It is responsible for transporting oxygen, exchanging carbon dioxide released by the tissues as well as solutes and minerals obtained through food.
Blood group:
A blood group is one of the four categories (A, B, AB, or O) into which people or blood can be classified based on the presence or absence of particular antigens in the blood. It is called the ABO blood group system.
The presence or absence of two surface antigens on RBCs, A and B, determines ABO blood grouping.
Both surface antigens on RBCs are present in the AB blood group.
Since the genotype for the AB blood group is IAIB, children can have A (IAIA), B (IBIB), or AB (IAIB) blood group if both parents have AB blood group.
Additionally, if both parents are positive for the RhD antigen, the children can be homozygous or heterozygous for the Rh factor gene, thereby risking their lives
